Chamamile (Matricaria Chamomilla)

Chamomile has been used since ancient times to address common concerns like stomachaches, diarrhea, and sleeplessness. It’s most often prepared as a tea, but is sometimes made into oils and tinctures.

It may help ease:

Anxiety:  Consuming chamomile long-term may significantly reduce symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder and improve overall mental well-being.

Stomach ache:  Chamomile may soothe an upset stomach, as well as resolve diarrhea in children and colic.

Diabetes:  There is some evidence that chamomile can help control blood sugar in people with diabetes. It may also decrease A1C, serum insulin levels, total cholesterol, and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol.

Cancer:  may help combat and treat cancer, as well as help prevent thyroid cancer and other thyroid conditions.

This may be due to chamomile's antioxidant properties. Antioxidants are plant compounds that fight against free radicals, which are molecules that cause cell damage in the body.

Skin:  Chamomile is often used topically to soothe damaged skin. Its anti-inflammatory properties make it especially helpful for eczema. It may also help soothe and heal diaper rash, simple wounds, bruises, and burns, as well as sore nipples during breastfeeding.
